CoveredEntitiesType

RIXML 2.5 Complex Type

Complex Type

A complex type that defines which entities can be covered in coverage update communications. Enhanced in version 2.5 to include Specialty as a covered entity type, expanding beyond traditional asset classes, securities, and geographic regions to include specialized research areas.

Usage

Used within CoveredEntities element in coverage update side-car documents. Supports choice of multiple entity types including AssetClass, AssetType, SecurityType, Issuer, Security, SectorIndustry, Region, Country, Index, Discipline, and the newly added Specialty. Unbounded maxOccurs allows multiple entities to be covered.

Business Context

Essential for research organizations managing analyst coverage assignments and communicating coverage changes to distribution partners. The addition of Specialty enables more granular coverage tracking for specialized research areas beyond traditional sector coverage.
